Puller Spares: Bent Screw or Lost Leg? Find the Part That Fits
Your puller’s centre screw has bent, a leg has gone missing, or the separator bolts stretched as the bearing let go. The rest of the tool is often still sound.
Usually you can replace just the failed part, once you know which puller you own. PartsForMachines lists 54 Sykes Pickavant puller, separator and extractor spares, from legs and screws to beams, separators and press guards.
Bent or Stripped Centre Bolt: Straighten It, Rethread It or Replace It?
Replace it. A bend means the steel has gone past its yield point, and that part of the deformation is permanent. Don’t use a puller with worn, dented or cracked working parts, check the centre screw for galling or seizing, and replace damaged components.
Fit the matching screw, such as the 18001270 T-bar and screw for the 180000V2 12-tonne ram, not a bolt of unknown grade. Then work out why it bent. A puller mounted off-centre can damage both the tool and the part, so keep it square and centred. The maker also advises lubricating the ram well before use.
Puller Leg Bent or Lost: Do I Have to Replace the Whole Set?
Usually not. Many legs are sold singly and matched to one puller family. The 131300-02 leg assembly, for example, fits the 13130000 puller, and the 12741000 is a single spare leg for the hub pulling system.
Match by part number, not by eye. Legs for the SPEEDLINE1810 alone run from 149 mm to 255 mm long, with jaw widths of 17 mm or 40 mm. Replace a bent leg promptly: the jaws should sit parallel with the screw and grip firmly, and a bent one can’t.
Separator Bolts Stretched or Snapped: Why, and What Do I Replace?
Replace any bolt that has stretched or snapped. A bolt pulled past its yield point stays longer and will not return to its original length, so it cannot be trusted on the next job. Stop work if the separator or puller starts to deform, and check both for wear, dents or cracks before reuse.
If the separator is distorted, replace it, choosing one by spread. The 09520000 bearing separator covers 35–134 mm and works with the 08320000 and 08330000 twin-leg pullers. Apply force gradually, keep the pull aligned, wear safety glasses and cover the work so nothing can fly if it lets go. For a replacement bolt, send our team a photo of the bolt and the separator number.
Box of Puller Bits, No Instructions: Which Spare Fits Which Puller?
Identify the puller first, then match each spare to it. Look for a series or part number on the beam, body or ram, such as the 1300, 1500 or 1800 series, SPEEDLINE or Loadstar. Spares are tool-specific: the 15241500 pin and nut fits twin and triple heads in the 1500 series, while the 131150-01 twin beam suits the 13115000.
Threads help too: the hub puller body, for instance, takes a 1½ in × 16 tpi Whitworth screw or ram. If nothing is legible, photograph the parts and measure the legs and thread.
What Should I Check Before I Order?
- the series or part number on the beam, body or ram, or a clear photo of the tool
- the old leg’s total length, working length, jaw width and foot depth
- the screw or ram thread size and length
- whether you need one leg or a set: the 08541500 short legs, for example, come as a set of three
- why the old part failed (an off-centre pull or an impact tool), so the new one lasts
Browse the puller, separator and extractor spares, or contact the PartsForMachines team by WhatsApp, telephone or email with your tool’s number and a photo of the part you need.

Frequently Asked Questions
My separator has no puller with it. What do I pull it with?
Use the pulling unit or twin-leg puller made for it. The 09400000 pulling unit, with a twin beam, centre screw and two pulling rods, works with the 09500000 separator. Larger separators pair with twin-leg pullers or heavier pulling units.
My slide hammer is missing. Which one fits my puller kit?
Match the thread first. The 08532000 2 kg slide hammer has a 1/2 in-20 UN thread at one end and 5/8 in-18 UN at the other. The 08542100 assembly uses a 1 kg weight with 220 mm of travel.
Can I make my 1300 series puller reach further?
Yes, on compatible models. The 133200-02 long reach leg gives 305 mm and the 133100-02 gives 200 mm. Each converts a standard 1300 series two-leg puller or replaces a worn long-reach leg, so check your puller’s number first.
My Loadstar rods are too short. Is there a longer set?
Yes, for the 20T Loadstar range. The 200399XL extension rods are 785 mm long, compared with 640 mm for the standard 20028900 rods, so they reach bearings or hubs further along a shaft or inside a housing.
Three legs or five on a hub puller?
Match the leg count to the wheel stud pattern. The 12742500 hub puller body comes with five legs for 3-, 4- or 5-leg set-ups, with a 100–180 mm spread, 18 mm stud holes and 160 mm leg reach.
The bearing slips out of the separator before it moves: is it the wrong size?
Possibly. Choose a separator whose spread range covers the bearing. The 09500000 covers 10–62 mm, the 09520000 35–134 mm and the 09530000 50–175 mm, so measure the bearing before you order.
My Loadstar ram sinks or shifts under load. Is there a base plate?
Yes, for the Loadstar Plus 20 tonne kit. The 20012100 cylinder base plate gives the ram a stable platform and spreads the load, so it is less likely to sink into a soft surface or move, and it keeps the ram aligned.
My blind bearing remover won’t reach. Is there an extension?
Yes, for the 098 series multipull remover. The 09821700 is a 195 mm extension rod that increases the tool’s working length, so it can reach bearings sitting deeper in a housing.
Is there a guard for my workshop press?
Yes. The 534551V3 universal press guard fits Silver Series 15, 20, 30 and 50 tonne presses. Separate front and rear guards are listed for 60 and 70 tonne presses (534266) and 100 tonne presses (534210).
