Jump Pack Battery Dead or Kit Piece Lost? Find the Right Spare

A booster pack that won’t hold a charge, a cracked clamp or a bent piece from a bush kit can put a good tool out of use. Often one spare, matched by number, gets it working again.

The workshop and equipment spares range at PartsForMachines lists 91 products, almost all of them single spares for Sykes Pickavant tools and kits, plus one Govoni product.

Jump Pack Battery Dead: Replace the Battery or Buy a New Pack?

Replace the battery if the case, leads, clamps and charger are sound. A matched battery such as the 862760 800CA replacement battery, made for packs including the 761006SP, can restore starting power while the working parts stay in service. If several of those parts are worn too, price a new pack before you decide.

First, confirm the battery is the fault. A voltage reading alone is not conclusive; a load test shows whether the battery can still deliver enough power. To make a lead-acid pack last, recharge it after every use: a battery left flat for long spells sulphates and loses capacity.

Pack Dead but the Battery Tests Fine: Fuse, Charger or Wiring?

Check the internal fuse first, because a blown one can leave a professional booster completely dead even with a healthy battery. The 862005 300A booster fuse suits packs such as the 761006SP.

Other packs take a different rating: the 862006 is a 500A fuse for models such as the 520008AC, and it fits named packs only.

If the fuse is sound but a new battery will not take a charge, suspect the charger. Then check the terminals and internal wiring, because dirt, corrosion or a loose connection can cause voltage drops and faults.

Bush Kit Piece Bent, Worn or Lost: Can I Buy It on Its Own?

Yes, in many cases: individual pieces for the Discovery 3 and 4 bush kits are sold on their own, so a damaged or missing piece doesn’t mean buying the whole kit again. Each wishbone has its own press frame pieces, used with a universal press frame and a 12-tonne ram.

Match the piece reference and the kit it belongs to. The 187770-1BS front lower piece, for example, fits the master kit and the front lower kit, while the 187770-2BS rear lower piece fits the master kit and the rear lower kit.

No Parts List? How Do I Match a Spare to My Tool?

Start with the number on the tool itself, from its label, case or instructions. Many Sykes Pickavant spare numbers begin with the parent tool’s number: the 660951-01 seal set, for instance, fits the 66095100 1.5-litre fluid change syringe.

Booster spares work differently: fuses, clamps and chargers name the pack models they fit, so check your pack’s number against that list. Then search our site for the number, or send our team a photo of the tool and its label.

What Should I Check Before I Order a Spare?

  • the model or kit number of the tool, for example a 761006SP pack or an 18777100 kit
  • that this number is in the spare’s “suitable for” list
  • the rating or size: a 300A or 500A fuse, a 12V or 12/24V charger, an M6–M16 or M10–M24 nut splitter piece
  • for bush kit pieces, the piece reference (such as 1BS) and which kit you have: the master kit or a front or rear, upper or lower kit
  • before buying a battery, the state of the case, leads, clamps and charger

Not sure which spare is yours? Browse the workshop and equipment spares range, or contact the PartsForMachines team by WhatsApp, telephone or email with the tool’s model number or a photo of its label.

Product options, delivery options and returns terms are shown on each product page. A 30-day return policy applies to eligible items.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I fit a bigger battery than the original?

Only if it matches the voltage, fits the case and terminals, and suits the way the pack charges it, so check with our team first. For the packs it names, the 862760 is the matched part, made to fit their housings and charging systems.

Can I leave a jump pack on charge all the time?

Only on a charger built for it, ideally the one matched to your pack model. A charger with a float stage keeps a lead-acid battery topped up, but not every charger has one, and overcharging shortens battery life.

The lead melted or a clamp broke: is the pack finished?

Not necessarily. Replacement clamps are sold for packs such as the 520008AC: the 862703 red booster clamp and its blue partner, the 862704. Wear, damage or corrosion on a clamp can affect conductivity and safety. If the cable itself is damaged, ask our team.

My nut splitter’s pushing piece is damaged: is there a spare?

Yes, for M6–M16 and M10–M24 hydraulic nut splitters: replacement pushing pieces are sold for both sizes. Send us your splitter’s model number before you order, so we can confirm which piece it takes.

What spares can I get for a 4-gas or 5-gas analyser?

Spares include water trap filter elements in packs of 10, a water trap end cap, the petrol exhaust probe with its hose, and a replacement battery for the 325200SP analyser. Change the filters as the analyser’s manual advises.

The force screw on my puller is bent: do I need a new puller?

Not always. A force screw can be bought on its own: the 131400-03, for example, replaces a worn, bent or damaged screw on the 13140000 two-leg mechanical puller.

My torque wrench’s square drive is worn: can I replace just the drive?

Yes, on listed models. The 80002170 3/8in drive fits the 80002000 wrench, while the 80006170 suits the current Speedline 60 and two older models.

Are winch pulleys and V-blocks for a workshop press sold separately?

Yes, for the 30-tonne and 50-tonne Sykes Pickavant presses. The 534365-15 winch cable pulley suits both, and the 534365-02 is the V-block spare for the 50-tonne press. Quote your press model number when you order.

I’ve lost a bit from my impact driver set: can I buy just one?

Yes, for the 040101V2 impact driver. Single replacement bits come in hex (5 and 10mm), Torx T30 to T50, slotted 5/16 to 1/2in and XPT 1 to 4 profiles, so you need not buy the whole set again.
