Will a Cover Get in the Way of My Air-Suspension Seat?

Not if it is cut for your seat. An air seat moves under you all shift: a cover that restricts it makes the ride worse, and a loose one gathers around the mechanism. Is There a Cover Big Enough for a High-Back Truck Seat?

Yes: skip car-size covers and choose one cut for your cab, or a universal cover made for full-size truck seats. Where a tailored cover exists, it is the better fit: a universal cover tends to bunch around the adjusters on an Isri seat, for example.

For tall backrests that narrow towards the headrest, as typically found in Scania and Volvo cabs, a universal high-back cover such as the UN8414 is made to fit. Its hook-and-loop fastenings fine-tune the fit, but measure the seat before you order.

Isri or Grammer: Which Cover Fits My Cab?

The one cut for your seat make, not just your cab. MAN and Mercedes cabs can carry Isri (Isringhausen) or Grammer seats, and a MAN cab can have one of each. Three quick checks:

• Isri: the belt comes through a slit in the fabric at the shoulder; the base may say Isringhausen.
• Grammer with a built-in belt: the belt feeds from a raised plastic housing on the shoulder.
• Grammer passenger seat without a built-in belt: symmetrical in shape.

Can I Take a Truck Seat Cover Off to Wash It?

Yes. Many covers fit without tools, so they come off for cleaning and go back on between drivers. Every cover is waterproof, so spills sit on the surface, and some, such as the TR8643 Volvo FM driver cover, wipe clean without coming off.

A grey cover shows soiling sooner than black, so you can wash it before dirt reaches the seat beneath. Before washing any cover, check its care label or ask our team how best to clean it.

What Should I Check Before I Order?

Can I fit a seat cover over a heated seat?

Check your vehicle handbook first. Some vehicle makers warn against putting anything that traps heat, such as a blanket, cushion or seat cover, on a heated seat, as it can overheat. None of these covers is sold as heated-seat compatible, so ask our team.

Are truck seat covers safe with seat-mounted airbags?

Not always: some vehicle makers advise against any accessory seat cover over a seat-mounted side airbag, as it could make the airbag less effective, so check your handbook. The TA8728 VW Amarok driver cover is sold as side-airbag compatible; for lorry seats, ask us.

Why does my old seat cover keep slipping?

A car-size or loosely fitted cover isn’t shaped to the seat, so it creeps as an air seat moves through a shift. A cover cut for your cab holds its shape better, and some, such as the DAF XG driver cover, add an anti-slip backing.

Will a cover protect a leather seat from site mud?

Can I cover the passenger, double and rear seats too?

Yes. Most cabs have matching passenger covers, and double passenger covers suit cabs such as the DAF LF and Renault D range. Rear covers suit MAN, Mercedes and Renault cabs, and some sets cover the front and rear together.

Will a fixed-headrest cover fit a seat with an adjustable headrest?

Yes, but you can’t adjust the headrest with the cover on. Where both versions exist, as for Renault T, C and K passenger seats, choose the cover made for your headrest type.

Can a cover go over a worn or torn seat?

Yes. A full cover can freshen up a seat that has seen better days and keeps mud and spills off the upholstery beneath. It hides a tear rather than repairing it.

Can I fit truck seat covers myself?
