The Draper Expert 82466 Chain Hoist/Chain Block addresses this directly, offering a 5000 kg safe working load within a gear housing engineered to operate in areas of limited clearance. At the heart of the unit is a triple spur geared shaft and pinion mechanism paired with a load-braking system and double pawls. This arrangement ensures controlled secure load handling with the double pawl design providing a critical secondary retention function that prevents unintended load descent under working conditions. The welded chain is manufactured to a high quality standard and is fitted with safety latches on the load hooks reducing the risk of accidental disengagement during a lift. The hoist has a lift height of 3 metres and a hook aperture of 46 mm with the complete unit weighing 39 kg. A test load of 7 has been applied during certification exceeding the rated safe working load by 50 per cent. The Draper Expert 82466 is tested and certified to BS EN 13157:2004 confirming compliance with the applicable European standard for manually operated hoists.
