The Draper Expert Chain Hoist/Chain Block, 0.5 Tonne (SKU 82441) is designed precisely for those conditions, with a compact gear housing that permits use in areas of limited clearance — a practical advantage wherever overhead space or lateral room is restricted. At the heart of the hoist is a triple spur geared shaft and pinion which works in conjunction with a load braking system and double pawls to provide controlled secure lifting. Load braking ensures the load is held firmly at any point during operation while the double pawl mechanism provides a secondary level of security against unintended movement. The welded chain is manufactured to a high quality standard and is fitted with safety latches on the load hooks reducing the risk of accidental disengagement during a lift. The unit carries a safe working load of 500 kg a test load rating of 750 kg and a lift height of 3 metres. The hook aperture measures 28 mm and the complete hoist weighs 8.5 kg. The 82441 is tested and certified to BS EN 13157:2004 confirming compliance with the applicable European standard for manually operated equipment for lifting people. Supplied as a single chain hoist/chain block unit it suits both workshop and factory environments where reliable manually operated lifting capability is required.
