Fortron Silicone Lube is formulated as a blend of silicones rather than a single-grade product, balancing the properties of lower and higher molecular weight silicones for broader application coverage.
The lower molecular weight silicones in the blend provide ease of application, better penetration into tight clearances, easier shine, good anti-static behaviour, and thinner films where minimal build-up is required. The higher molecular weight silicones provide resilience and tenacity, resulting in extended service life and release properties that suit moulded and similar applications. Together the blend gives the product a wider applicability than a single-grade silicone product would.
Practical benefits of the product include lubrication, waterproofing and sealing, penetration into tight clearances, lustre on treated surfaces, anti-static and anti-corrosion properties, and elimination of squeaks generated between like or dissimilar materials such as glass-on-plastic or rubber-on-metal contact.
