Workshop hand cleaning is one of those routine tasks where the choice of product matters more than it appears — solvent-based hand cleaners damage skin over repeated use, while inadequate non-solvent products leave stubborn workshop contaminants behind. Fortron Eco Hands is formulated as a solvent-free, very low environmental impact hand cleanser that gently removes stubborn non-dried materials such as grease, paint, printing inks, and glue without the skin and environmental impact of solvent-based alternatives.
The product uses a soft paste consistency that allows easy application — a small quantity is massaged into the skin, where the gentle abrasion of the suspended particles lifts contaminants from the skin surface. The cleanser then rinses cleanly with water, leaving a light, pleasant perfume rather than the chemical odour associated with solvent cleaners.
The defining feature of the formulation is the use of fine walnut shell as the suspended cleansing particle. Walnut shell is sustainable — sourced as a by-product of food processing — and provides effective gentle abrasion without the harshness of pumice or the environmental concerns of plastic microbeads. The walnut shell is combined with natural minerals to enhance the cleansing action.
The product is intended for workshops where regular hand cleaning is essential — typically multiple times across the working day — and where skin condition matters across an extended working life. It is well-suited to mechanical, body shop, and general engineering environments where the contaminant range covers oils, greases, paints, inks, and adhesives.
The 5-litre container size suits workshop installation in a wall-mounted dispenser or at a dedicated hand cleaning station, with sufficient volume to last between restocking events.
