When drilling plastics, non-ferrous metals, or fine-tolerance work, fixed-step speed changes often aren't precise enough. The Sealey GDM200F/VS variable speed floor pillar drill solves this by offering stepless speed control from 150 to 2300rpm so you can dial in exactly the right speed for the job, not simply the nearest available setting. Speed is adjusted via a centre idle pulley controlled by a lever, which varies the effective diameter of two spring-tensioned cone pulleys in the belt transmission. This design delivers smooth, consistent speed adjustment across the full range. The machine is built on the same 1630mm-height floor-standing frame as the GDM200F, with an 80mm column diameter, 80mm spindle travel, and a 16mm (5/8") MT2 chuck capacity. Motor power is 450W with an input power of 650W. Spindle centre to column is 178mm. Safety features include a no-volt release switch, allowing insurance company approval for use in educational establishments. A chuck guard is supplied as standard. A mortise attachment is available separately (Model No. MA10). Base size is 460 x 275mm. Maximum spindle to table distance is 730mm. Maximum spindle to base is 1170mm. Weight is 71kg extra assistance must be provided at the delivery point to assist with safe delivery. The optional GDMX/KC keyless chuck (16mm) is available as an accessory.
