Floor-standing pillar drills are a workshop staple where repeatable accuracy and consistent drilling depth matter — but not all machines combine the speed range, build quality and safety features that demanding automotive and maintenance environments require. The Draper 2019 addresses this with a 16-speed configuration spanning 160 to 3,000 rpm and a 25mm drilling capacity, making it equally capable across a broad range of materials and hole sizes. The square 356 x 356mm table is fitted with a smoothly operated rack and pinion mechanism for straightforward height adjustment, while an 80mm spindle travel and MT2 spindle taper support accurate, repeatable work. A depth stop allows the operator to pre-set drilling depth, and a No-Volt safety release switch ensures the drill does not restart automatically following a power interruption — an important safeguard in a busy workshop environment. A chuck guard and lockable pulley cover are also fitted as standard. The motor casing is manufactured from steel, contributing to the machine's robust 86kg construction. The column diameter measures 80mm and the throat depth is 255mm, giving ample clearance for most workpiece configurations. Chuck capacity runs from 5 to 20mm. Overall height is 1,635mm, with a base footprint of 485 x 290mm. The unit is supplied complete with a BS approved non-rewireable moulded plug and approximately 1.8 metres of cable, ready for connection to a standard 230V supply. Braked and swivelling castors are fitted, allowing the machine to be repositioned within the workshop with ease.
