Variations
Exocet Anti-Bug is a fuel-soluble biocide and preservative for diesel, supplied here in the 100ml pack. It is for professional use, and it covers both jobs: clearing an active microbiological infestation at a Kill dose, and holding a clean tank clear at a Protect dose.
The first sign of contamination is usually filters blocking continuously with a slimy substance, anywhere from black to light brown. Anti-Bug is broad spectrum, covering bacteria, viruses, fungi and yeasts. It acts immediately and does not add to sludge or slime build-up, clean-up runs 24 to 36 hours, and it eliminates plugging of filters and gauges while protecting tank and pipework against corrosion. It does not affect fuel combustion or emissions quality, and it is compatible with steels, aluminium, zinc, polyethylene and polypropylene. It is approved as a fuel additive by Mercedes Benz, DAF, MAN, NATO, Deutz, Shell and the Swiss Army among others.
Kill dose is 1 litre to 5,000 litres; Protect dose is 1 litre to 20,000 litres. Drain or pump free water from the bottom of the tank first, then dose on total tank volume, add the correct amount and fill to capacity with clean fuel. Leave 24 to 36 hours, use the fuel as normal, and replace the filters after a few days.
