Exocet Premium Heating Oil Additive is an additive pack for domestic kerosene to BS2869:C2, supplied here in the 5 litre pack. It is the unfragranced version, used to upgrade standard kerosene to a premium grade fuel.
It is a multi-component product. In storage it guards against fuel degradation, protects metal tanks and pipework from corrosion, addresses the effects of fuel sitting against copper fittings, and inhibits deposits building in the tank. In the appliance it reduces the deposits that form around nozzles and on heat exchanger surfaces, lowers carbon emissions and improves system efficiency between services. Treated fuel holds its condition for longer in the tank. The pack is available fragranced or unfragranced; this is the unfragranced version, and the difference is fragrance alone. Fuel treated on delivery holds its condition in the tank rather than degrading between fills, which is where most heating oil problems begin.
Dose at 200ml to 1,000 litres of heating oil. Treat where fuel will stand for more than four months, where filters are plugging or burner jets fouling quickly, where soot is collecting in the heat exchange chamber, or where combustion efficiency needs optimising.
