Exocet Premium Protect is an additive pack for domestic kerosene to BS2869:C2, supplied here in the 5 litre pack. It upgrades standard kerosene to a premium grade fuel and carries a protect level of biocide to keep a clean system free of microbiological growth.
It is a multi-component product rather than a single-function additive. It guards against fuel degradation in storage, protects metal tanks and pipework from corrosion, and addresses the effects of fuel sitting in contact with copper fittings. In the burner it reduces the deposits that build around nozzles and across heat exchanger surfaces, and it inhibits sludge forming in the tank. Fuel treated on delivery stays stable for longer, and systems run more efficiently between services. The biocide is at a protect level rather than a kill level, so it is aimed at keeping a clean system clean rather than clearing an existing infestation.
Dose at 200ml to 1,000 litres of heating oil. It is worth treating where fuel will stand for more than four months, where filters are plugging or burner jets fouling quickly, where soot is building in the heat exchange chamber, or as routine protection against microbiological growth in a clean tank.
