Oil FinderShell Gadus S2 V220 00 (formerly Shell Alvania Grease EP[LF] 00, Shell Alvania Grease GL 00 and Shell Retinax CS 00) is a semi-fluid multi-purpose extreme-pressure grease for enclosed gears and centralised lubrication systems. The product is positioned for applications requiring a flowable grease — sealed-for-life enclosed gearboxes, central lubrication systems and articulated joints where the grease needs to flow through small passages or pump through lubrication lines.
The V220 designation indicates the ISO VG 220 base-oil viscosity, and the NLGI 00 consistency is the semi-fluid grease consistency.
Approvals and performance levels include ASTM D2596 (extreme-pressure load-wear); and DIN 51805 (low-temperature flow).
As with all greases, follow the equipment manufacturer's regreasing schedule and avoid mixing with greases of incompatible thickener type — incompatible thickeners can cause softening, hardening or separation of the grease in service. Store greases sealed in the original packaging, at moderate temperatures and away from direct sunlight, to preserve consistency and additive performance.
Gadus S2 V220 00 is a high quality multipurpose, extreme pressure grease based on a blend of high viscosity index mineral oils and a lithium hydroxystreate soap thickener and contain extreme pressure and other proven additives to enhance their performance in a wide range of applications.
