Shell Rimula R5 LE 10W-40 in the 209-litre drum is supplied for workshop bulk service, multi-machine fleet maintenance and on-site refuelling depots. It is a synthetic-technology heavy-duty diesel engine oil featuring Low-SAPS additive technology while delivering energy savings. The 10W-40 viscosity is the heavier-duty sibling of the R5 LE 10W-30 grade, suited to operations where a higher operating-temperature viscosity is required.
The oil is suitable for low-emission engine use in Euro 4, Euro 5 and Euro 6 applications fitted with after-treatment systems, with an advanced low-ash formulation supporting DPF and SCR performance. The product is suitable for use with biodiesel per the Shell product data sheet.
Approvals and performance levels include ACEA E9; API CK-4; JASO DH-2; MB-Approval 228.31; Volvo VDS-4.5; MAN M3775; Caterpillar ECF-3 (and ECF-2); Cummins CES 20086; MTU Type 2.1; Deutz DQC III-10 LA; Ford WSS-M2C171-F1; Detroit Diesel 93K222; and Iveco TLS E9.
This drum format is suited to workshop bulk supply, fleet service and high-throughput dispensing via a workshop pump or filtration cart. Store the drum on its side in a bunded area, with the bung uppermost to limit moisture and contamination ingress around the fitting.
