Cone geometry inherently provides high horizontal stiffness relative to vertical stiffness, which controls lateral movement of engines, cabs, and mounted equipment under the variable loads typical of mobile plant. This design also incorporates a failsafe feature that makes it well suited to applications where mount separation must be prevented.
