Product Number: APT517
Worn chisels and slow retainer changes cost time at the bench. The PCL APT517 is a general purpose air hammer designed for cutting, punching, and chipping tasks, with a coil spring retainer that allows fast and easy chisel changes — making it well suited to body shop work including rust removal.
The APT517 is built around a 2 5/8 in (3 mm) stroke mechanism and accepts chisels with a 10–11 mm shank opening. A positive action trigger gives controlled operation, while the rear exhaust is routed through the handle to direct spent air away from the work area. Air consumption is 6.2 cfm (176 l/min) and a minimum hose size of 3/8 in (10 mm) is required. The air inlet is 1/4 in BSP.
The tool registers a sound level of 104 dBa and a vibration figure of 15.14 m/s². It delivers 3,000 blows per minute via the 2 5/8 in stroke and measures 175 mm in length, with a product weight of 1.5 kg. The PCL APT517 is manufactured by PCL — Sheffield UK manufacture since 1938, part of HORNGROUP.
