Q 1. What is BG Ultra-Guard Full Synthetic Gear Lubricant?

A. BG Ultra-Guard is a full-synthetic API GL-5 gear lubricant blended to SAE 75W-90 viscosity. Provides protection for driveline components — maintains system cleanliness, thermal stability, seal performance, quieter operation, and protection against wear, pitting and corrosion.

Q 2. What applications is BG Ultra-Guard for?

A. For driveline use including on-road, off-road and marine applications where an API GL-5 SAE 75W-90 gear lubricant is specified. Suitable for hypoid differentials, axles, and transfer cases requiring GL-5.

Q 3. How should BG Ultra-Guard be used?

A. Follow the equipment manufacturer's service recommendations for fill quantity and service interval. Keep the gearbox topped up to specification. For limited-slip applications, add BG Universal MGC (PN 328) at a 10% treat ratio.

Q 4. Is BG Ultra-Guard suitable for limited-slip differentials?

A. Yes — but the LSD requires the addition of BG Universal MGC (PN 328) at a 10% treat ratio for correct limited-slip friction characteristics. Without the MGC, the LSD will chatter.

Q 5. What is the difference between API GL-4 and GL-5?

A. GL-5 (BG Ultra-Guard, 75032E) has higher EP additive content for hypoid differentials and severe-duty applications. GL-4 (BG Syncro Shift II, 79032E) is for manual transmissions where excess EP additive can corrode synchros. Use the OEM-specified grade.

Q 6. Is the 946ml bottle enough for a differential fill?

A. A 946ml bottle is a partial fill — most passenger-car differentials hold 1.5–2.5 litres. For a full differential service, multiple bottles or a workshop bulk pack is appropriate.

Q 7. How long does delivery take?

A. Standard UK mainland delivery is 3–5 working days.
