Castrol Hyspin HVI 46 in the 208-litre drum is supplied for workshop bulk service, multi-machine fleet maintenance and on-site refuelling depots running mobile hydraulic equipment. It is a high-viscosity-index (VI) hydraulic oil based on a carefully selected ashless (zinc-free) additive system designed to meet and exceed exacting performance standards.
The oil exhibits corrosion protection, thermal and oxidative stability, and hydrolytic stability — separating rapidly from water contamination. The ISO VG 46 viscosity grade is the most common selection in the Hyspin HVI range and is the standard general-service hydraulic viscosity for ambient and warm-climate operation.
Approvals and performance levels include ISO 6743-4; DIN 51502, 51524 and 51350; and meets test methods ASTM D4052, D445, D892, D1401, D3427 and D665.
For single-machine service and smaller operators, Castrol Hyspin HVI 46 is also available in a 20-litre pack (PRD00001470).
This drum format is suited to workshop bulk supply, fleet service and high-throughput dispensing via a workshop pump or filtration cart. Store the drum on its side in a bunded area, with the bung uppermost to limit moisture and contamination ingress around the fitting.
The Castrol Hyspin™ HVI range of high viscosity index (VI) oils is based on a carefully selected ashless (zinc free) additive system designed to meet and exceed the most exacting performance standards. . Application Hyspin HVI oils are intended for severely stressed hydraulic systems requiring a high level of anti-wear performance and fine filtration. In addition, Hyspin HVI exhibits excellent corrosion protection as well as outstanding thermal and oxidative stability. Hyspin HVI has excellent hydrolytic stability and separates rapidly from water contamination. Hyspin HVI contains a shear stable additive system which helps to maintain the viscosity characteristics of the product over a wide temperature range, even during prolonged use, and imparts a very low pour point which enables the product to be used in cold environments. The Hyspin HVI range is fully compatible with elastomer materials commonly used for static and dynamic seals, such as nitrile, silicone and fluorinated (e.g. Viton) polymers. Applications include: Outdoor equipment which are likely to operate over wide temperature ranges, such as machinery subjected to cold start up conditions and high temperature continuous running. A. API and ACEA are the universal lubricant performance standards every reputable oil meets. They are your baseline check — match the code your handbook specifies (e.g., API CI-4 or ACEA E7 for heavy-duty diesel) and the oil is technically suitable for your machine.
