Shell Gadus S2 V220AD 2 (formerly Shell Alvania Grease HDX and Shell Retinax HDX) is a heavy-duty water-resistant multi-purpose grease containing solid lubricants for additional boundary protection. The grease combines lithium/calcium soap thickener with EP additives and solid lubricants — suiting heavily loaded bearings, marine applications and equipment exposed to water ingress.
The NLGI 2 consistency is the standard bearing-grade grease consistency. The 'AD' designation indicates the solid-lubricant-fortified variant of the Shell Gadus S2 V220 range.
Approvals and performance levels are positioned within the standard NLGI 2 heavy-duty multi-purpose EP grease class — verify the specific OEM-approval set against the current product label.
As with all greases, follow the equipment manufacturer's regreasing schedule and avoid mixing with greases of incompatible thickener type — incompatible thickeners can cause softening, hardening or separation of the grease in service. Store greases sealed in the original packaging, at moderate temperatures and away from direct sunlight, to preserve consistency and additive performance.
Shell Gadus S2 V220AD Greases are recommended for the lubrication of shock loaded heavy duty bearings working in damp hostile conditions. They are well-suited for use in off- highway applications and also for the lubrication of fifth wheels
