Shell Coolant Extra concentrate is a Hybrid Organic Additive Technology (HOAT) coolant/antifreeze concentrate — combining silicate-based corrosion inhibitors with organic-acid additives. The product provides frost protection, corrosion protection and resistance to scale formation when mixed with water at the recommended dilution ratio.
The HOAT silicate hybrid chemistry positions the product within the G11 coolant class — typically specified for older engines, certain Volkswagen-group applications and commercial vehicles where silicate-containing nitrite-free coolant is specified.
Approvals and performance levels include MAN M324 NF (commercial vehicle engine coolant); Deutz DQC CA-14 (Deutz engine coolant); VW TL 774C (G11 — silicate-based coolant); BS 6580; ASTM D3306; ASTM D1123; ASTM D1287; ASTM D4052; ASTM D1121; ASTM D1177; and SAE J1034.
Shell Coolant Extra concentrate is supplied as a concentrate and is mixed with water at the dilution ratio specified by the engine manufacturer.
