Variations
In-line mounts that take load straight down the strut axis call for a clevis fork rather than a ball or eye. The Metrol C1 is a steel clevis fork (U-shaped end fitting) with an M6 thread, a 24mm body and a 6mm pin hole. It screws onto the strut rod and pins through a clevis mount, carrying load in line with the strut for a secure, hinged connection. Its thread suits a gas strut with a 6 & 8mm rod, and the pin is retained with the matching C1CLIP clip. It is one of a family of end fittings that connect a strut to its mounting — a ball joint to swivel freely, an eye to hinge on a pin, a clevis to pin in line, or a rose eye to take up misalignment. Sized for a 6 & 8mm rod, the fitting is matched by thread to the strut and by size to the fixing. It is found on access panels, inspection hatches, equipment covers, storage-box lids and similar panels. Across the range, the clevis range spans M6 to M14 (C1–C4); a 316 stainless version is available as SSC1.
