Variations
In-line mounts that take load straight down the strut axis call for a clevis fork rather than a ball or eye. The Metrol SSC3 is a 316 stainless steel clevis fork (U-shaped end fitting) with an M10 thread, a 40mm body and a 10mm pin hole. It screws onto the strut rod and pins through a clevis mount, carrying load in line with the strut for a secure, hinged connection. Its thread suits a gas strut with a 14mm rod, and the pin is retained with the matching C3CLIP clip. Like every end fitting in the range it transfers the strut's force to the structure: a ball joint gives a connection that swivels in any direction, an eye a single-axis hinge, a clevis fork an in-line pinned joint, and a rose eye absorbs slight misalignment. It threads onto a gas strut with a 14mm rod, and is chosen by matching the thread to the strut and the size to the space behind the mounting. Typical applications include under-bed boxes, display lids, counter hatches, canopy panels. Across the range, the clevis range spans M6 to M14 (C1–C4); a steel version is available as C3. Machined from 316 stainless steel for corrosion resistance.
