When a panel has to open as far as possible, the Metrol NS-V-6-200 provides it. The longest-stroke variable force gas strut in the 6mm range, with a 200mm stroke reaching 440mm. Rather than a fixed factory setting, its force is adjustable across 30–400N and tuned to the load on setup; the 27% progression across the stroke keeps motion smooth from closed to fully open. Built on a 6mm QPQ rod in a 15mm powder-coated body, it carries panel weights of 1–10kg per balanced pair and operates across −30°C to +80°C, supplied at maximum force unless otherwise specified. It is used on machine guards, fold-down benches, worktop flaps, toolbox lids and other lift-and-hold panels. A threaded end fitting screws onto the rod while a mounting bracket carries the body end, and struts are fitted in pairs for an even, two-sided action that stays put when released. Within the range, its nearest stroke options are NS-V-6-150; a 316 stainless equivalent is available as NS-SS-V-6-200. Every strut is guaranteed for two years, and custom strokes and forces are available on request.
