Sized to adjust between 70-90mm, the HGZ90BG carries the construction details Hi-Grip is specified for - rolled screw threads on a cold-headed, work-hardened hex head, fully rounded band edges, and a published tightening torque of 6.0 Nm (54 lb-in) for this size band. The range is made to exceed BS5315 and holds the BSI Kitemark and NATO approval.
Uniquely, JCS applies the zinc plating after the steel is cut, so even the cut edges of the band are coated. That makes it a dependable general purpose clip for domestic, automotive and industrial use in non-corrosive conditions. Size it by the fitted outside diameter of the hose, and recheck after sustained vibration - the 10-clip pack keeps spares on hand for the next service.
Also available - the same clip as a bulk pack (HGZ90BP); the 60-80mm size (HGZ80BG); the 80-100mm size (HGZ100BG); a 304 stainless version in the same size and pack (HGS90BG).
The larger adjustment range per size means one JCS clip covers spans that would take two ordinary nut-and-bolt clamps.

A. It adjusts between 70-90mm. Measure the outside diameter of your hose when fitted over its pipe or fitting - if that measurement falls within 70-90mm, this clip fits. JCS clips offer a larger adjustment range per size than typical nut-and-bolt clamps. In imperial terms that is roughly 2 3/4 to 3 9/16 in, covering common 3 and 3 1/2 in hose sizes.
A. JCS recommends 6.0 Nm (54 lb-in) for this size. Position the clip centrally over the hose barb and tighten incrementally to that torque - over-tightening can damage the hose.
A. JCS advises against zinc plated clips in marine conditions, where they can corrode or seize. For boats and other saltwater environments use Hi-Grip Stainless, which is 18/8 marine-quality 304 stainless steel with Lloyd's Register Type Approval.
