Most hose failures start at the connection, not the hose - a clip that creeps loose under vibration lets the joint seep long before it lets go.
This is the 90-120mm size of the Hi-Grip worm drive range. Where cheaper clips cut their threads and leave sharp band edges, JCS rolls the screw threads for strength and fully rounds the band edges so the hose is protected as the clip bites. JCS publishes a recommended torque of 6.0 Nm (54 lb-in) for this size - seat the clip centrally on the barb and work up to it gradually. Hi-Grip exceeds BS5315 and holds BSI Kitemark and NATO approvals.
Zinc plated for general purpose service, this clip is the everyday choice for automotive, domestic and industrial hose joints in non-corrosive conditions; for persistently wet or salty duty JCS points buyers to its stainless range instead. Size by the fitted outside diameter of the hose and tighten in stages. A 10-pack suits a multi-point job or the stores rack.
Also available - the same clip as a bulk pack (HGZ120BP); the 80-100mm size (HGZ100BG); the 110-140mm size (HGZ140BG); a 304 stainless version in the same size and pack (HGS120BG).
The larger adjustment range per size means one JCS clip covers spans that would take two ordinary nut-and-bolt clamps.

A. This size spans 90-120mm of fitted hose outside diameter. Measure the hose over its fitting, not the bare bore - anywhere inside 90-120mm and the HGZ120BG is the right clip. One JCS size covers a span that would take two fixed nut-and-bolt clamps. In imperial terms that is roughly 3 9/16 to 4 3/4 in, covering common 4 and 4 1/2 in hose sizes.
