A leaking hose joint on a pump set, plant engine or process line usually traces back to one part - the clip that stopped gripping.
Sized to adjust between 130-160mm, the HGZ160BG carries the construction details Hi-Grip is specified for - rolled screw threads on a cold-headed, work-hardened hex head, fully rounded band edges, and a published tightening torque of 6.0 Nm (54 lb-in) for this size band. The range is made to exceed BS5315 and holds the BSI Kitemark and NATO approval.
Sold as a carton of 10, this is the counter-and-toolbox format of JCS's general purpose clip - electro zinc plated and passivated mild steel, EN9227 tested, with the plating applied after cutting. Use it for automotive, domestic and industrial hose joints away from salt and standing moisture, sized by the fitted outside diameter of the hose.
Also available - the same clip as a bulk pack (HGZ160BP); the 110-140mm size (HGZ140BG); a 304 stainless version in the same size and pack (HGS160BG).
Designed, made and batch-tested in-house at Sudbury, Suffolk under ISO 9001:2015 - an everyday clip built to an approval list most premium clips cannot match.

A. It adjusts between 130-160mm. Measure the outside diameter of your hose when fitted over its pipe or fitting - if that measurement falls within 130-160mm, this clip fits. JCS clips offer a larger adjustment range per size than typical nut-and-bolt clamps. In imperial terms that is roughly 5 1/8 to 6 5/16 in, covering common 6 in hose sizes.
A. JCS recommends 6.0 Nm (54 lb-in) for this size. Position the clip centrally over the hose barb and tighten incrementally to that torque - over-tightening can damage the hose.
A. JCS advises against zinc plated clips in marine conditions, where they can corrode or seize. For boats and other saltwater environments use Hi-Grip Stainless, which is 18/8 marine-quality 304 stainless steel with Lloyd's Register Type Approval.

A. JCS recommends asking three questions: what is the hose carrying (water, fuel, chemicals, air)? What pressure and temperature will it see? And is the environment corrosive? The answers drive material choice - zinc plated for general non-corrosive use, stainless for corrosive environments - then match the clip's range to the fitted hose diameter.
A. JCS designs against it: the hex screw is cold-headed and work-hardened with rolled threads, so it holds its setting and will not round off. On high-vibration equipment, JCS's guidance is to recheck the clip after service to keep the seal intact.
