Most hose failures start at the connection, not the hose - a clip that creeps loose under vibration lets the joint seep long before it lets go.
Sized to adjust between 40-55mm, the HGZ55RP carries the construction details Hi-Grip is specified for - rolled screw threads on a cold-headed, work-hardened hex head, fully rounded band edges, and a published tightening torque of 6.0 Nm (54 lb-in) for this size band. The range is made to exceed BS5315 and holds the BSI Kitemark and NATO approval.
Sold as a carton of 10, this is the counter-and-toolbox format of JCS's general purpose clip - electro zinc plated and passivated mild steel, EN9227 tested, with the plating applied after cutting. Use it for automotive, domestic and industrial hose joints away from salt and standing moisture, sized by the fitted outside diameter of the hose.
Also available - the same clip as a trade bag (HGZ55BG); the same clip as a bulk pack (HGZ55BP); the 35-50mm size (HGZ50RP); the 45-60mm size (HGZ60RP).
Few clips at this level carry a Kitemark, NATO approval and 180-plus years of British manufacturing behind them.

A. It adjusts between 40-55mm. Measure the outside diameter of your hose when fitted over its pipe or fitting - if that measurement falls within 40-55mm, this clip fits. JCS clips offer a larger adjustment range per size than typical nut-and-bolt clamps. In imperial terms that is roughly 1 9/16 to 2 3/16 in, covering common 1 3/4 and 2 in hose sizes.
A. For this size band JCS publishes a recommended torque of 6.0 Nm (54 lb-in). Work up to it gradually with the clip seated centrally on the barb; going past it risks damaging the hose rather than improving the seal.
A. JCS electro zinc plates and passivates the mild steel band after it is cut to size, so even the cut edges carry coating - and the finish is tested to EN9227. That suits dry and general duty; once salt or standing moisture is involved, the stainless range is the correct specification.
A. JCS advises against zinc plated clips in marine conditions, where they can corrode or seize. For boats and other saltwater environments use Hi-Grip Stainless, which is 18/8 marine-quality 304 stainless steel with Lloyd's Register Type Approval.
