The Draper 70548 12/24V Battery Charger addresses this by combining microprocessor control with selectable charging currents, removing the risk of overcharging and allowing the operator to match output precisely to the battery under charge. The charger accepts lead-acid, Gel, AGM and MF battery types, operating at either 12V or 24V. At 12V the selectable charging currents are 2A, 5A, 8A and 16A; at 24V the available settings are 2A, 5A and 8A. Input is 230V at 13A. A large, easy-to-read LCD screen and a mode selection control panel give clear operational feedback, while polarity protection guards against incorrect connection. Two USB ports — rated at 1.0A and 2.4A respectively — provide additional charging capability for ancillary devices.Practical workshop considerations are addressed throughout the design. Onboard power cord storage keeps the work area tidy, a dedicated clamp holder secures the charging leads when not in use, and heavy-duty carry handles make the unit straightforward to move between vehicles or bays.
