It delivers a peak starting output of 660A (400A EN) and a peak charge output of 100A (70A EN), with a battery range spanning 50-1200Ah, covering everything from small passenger cars to demanding commercial vehicle batteries. The START660 features six switchable charging rates and a fast-charge timer device that enables rapid battery recovery whilst reducing the risk of boiling the battery a practical safeguard during high-rate charging in a busy workshop environment. An analogue ammeter and switchable charge circuitry provide accurate charge control, and the 2.1m cable and clamp length gives comfortable reach. Polarity protection is provided by two 110A fuses. Large wheels aid mobility around the workshop. The unit requires a 230V 32A supply, and performance is dependent on connection to an adequate, good clean electric supply.
