Cutting large-diameter cables with compact shears demands excessive force and repeated repositioning. The KNIPEX 95 11 225 SB StepCut® XL Cable Shears address this directly through a high-leverage bolted joint combined with long handles and optimised cutting edges, delivering noticeably easier cutting than compact cable shears. At the heart of the tool is a dual cutting area design. A stepped cutting edge holds small and larger cables securely close to the joint during the cut, while a front cutting edge allows very large cables to be cut step by step with controlled force. The adjustable, high-leverage bolted joint ensures precise and smooth cutting throughout. One- or two-handed operation is achievable with a minimum handle opening suited to large cable diameters, and the slim head improves accessibility in confined installations. The shears accommodate solid copper or aluminium cables up to 35 mm², stranded cables up to 70 mm², and fine stranded cables up to 120 mm². Cutting edges are additionally laser-hardened to approximately 56 HRC for sustained cutting performance. A pinch guard prevents operators' fingers being pinched during use. Note that these shears are not suitable for steel-reinforced cables such as ACSR. Supplied as 1 x KNIPEX 95 11 225 SB StepCut® XL Cable Shears, 225mm.
