Finding a capable metalworking lathe that fits a smaller workshop without sacrificing genuine machining performance is no easy task. The Sealey SM2503A is a bench-mounting miniature lathe built predominantly from cast iron and steel, compact enough to sit in the corner of a workshop yet light enough at 26.2kg to be truly portable when required. Powered by a 150W high-torque motor running on 230V, it offers variable spindle speeds from 100 to 2000rpm, giving you control across a range of turning tasks. The capacities are 150mm swing over bed and 250mm between centres, with a cross slide travel of 50mm. The spindle features an MT2 taper and the tailstock an MT1 taper. Five metric thread pitches are available (0.5-1.25mm), and the lathe features both manual and powered lead screw feed as well as overload protection for added reliability. Supplied as standard with an 80mm 3-jaw self-centring chuck, tailstock centre, and service tools. An extensive range of accessories is available separately, and the unit can be upgraded with a mill/drill head by ordering model SM2503B.
