Worn or hard-to-reach surfaces need a compact, controlled tool that can be relied upon in confined workspaces. The PCL APT702 is a pneumatic die grinder fitted with a 6 mm collet in a three-piece design, running at a free speed of 22,000 rpm and weighing just 0.69 kg — making it a practical choice for tyre buffing, polishing, and grinding tasks in the workshop. The APT702 is designed to offer high free speed alongside low vibration, with a quoted vibration figure of 0.337 m/s² and a sound level of 75.2 dBa. A safety throttle lever provides controlled operation, while rear exhaust routed through the handle keeps discharge away from the work area. The 6 mm collet accepts a wide range of rotary bits and burrs suited to the applications above. On the technical side, the APT702 draws 3 cfm (85 l/min) of air, connects via a 1/4" air inlet, and requires a minimum hose size of 3/8 in (10 mm). Maximum torque is rated at 1.5 Nm and the tool measures 175 mm in length. Its medium motor size and compact form make it particularly well suited to detailed work in restricted areas. Manufactured in Sheffield, the APT702 is part of PCL's compressed-air tool range, produced under the HORNGROUP umbrella with a manufacturing heritage dating to 1938.
