A. BG Engine Purge is an oil-system flush that safely removes accumulated sludge, soot and varnish deposits from the engine before an oil change. Restores compression on engines where sludge is impeding ring or oil-control function.
A. Drain old oil, refill with fresh oil to operating temperature. Add 946ml per 4 litres of new oil, run at 1,200–1,500 RPM for 15–20 minutes, drain, refit filter and add fresh oil plus BG MOA (115).
A. The first fresh-oil fill is the carrier for BG Engine Purge — it dissolves the sludge then leaves the engine with the dirty oil. The second fresh-oil fill is the clean service oil the engine runs on afterwards.
A. BG instructs that if the engine overheats or oil pressure drops at any point during or after the Purge run, shut the engine off immediately and do not drive the vehicle until the Purge is drained and new oil added.
A. Yes. BG Engine Purge is safe for use in conventional, diesel and rotary engines. It contains no chlorinated solvents and is environmentally safe.
A. BG Engine Purge flushes sludge from the oil galleries — used as a pre-clean. BG EPR dissolves carbon deposits on piston rings to restore compression. Often run in sequence: Purge first, then EPR with the fresh oil.
A. BG states that Engine Purge can restore compression where sludge has built up around the rings and prevented them sealing. For carbon-deposit ring sticking, BG EPR is the appropriate follow-on product.
A. BG Engine Purge is typically used as a one-off restorative on neglected or high-mileage engines, not at every service. For preventive oil-system maintenance at every oil change, use BG MOA (115) or BG DOC (112) instead.
A. In-stock orders placed before 14:30 Monday to Friday are usually dispatched the same day.
