Astratech Anti Smoke Treatment (PA02, 250ml) is an oil additive formulated to reduce exhaust smoke caused by oil burning. The treatment conditions ageing engine seals and reduces oil viscosity loss under high temperatures, helping to limit the volume of oil reaching the combustion chamber. Regular use can reduce visible exhaust smoke, decrease oil consumption between service intervals, and extend engine service life in high-mileage vehicles.

A. The PA02 is an engine oil additive that reduces visible exhaust smoke in engines suffering from minor oil consumption or worn piston rings. It thickens the oil at running temperature and reduces the volume that escapes past the rings into the combustion chamber. A temporary measure pending mechanical repair.
A. The PA02 works for the duration of the oil it is added to — often until the next scheduled oil change. The treatment can be re-applied at each subsequent service. For engines with serious wear the treatment masks symptoms rather than fixing them; book a compression test to diagnose the cause.
A. Avoid PA02 in modern engines under warranty, in engines with very low oil consumption (no benefit), and in engines fitted with sensitive emissions equipment that may not tolerate altered oil viscosity. The treatment is intended for older, higher-mileage engines as a budget bridge to repair.
