For trade users fitting clips around water every week, stainless throughout is the only specification that lasts.
The HGS40RP is a Hi-Grip worm drive clip adjusting between 30-40mm. Its band edges are fully rounded to protect the hose, and the hex screw is cold-headed and work-hardened with rolled threads, so it resists slipping or rounding under the driver. Tighten incrementally to the recommended 5.0 Nm (45 lb-in); over-tightening is what damages hoses. The range is manufactured to exceed BS5315 and carries the BSI Kitemark and NATO approval.
The specification is 18/8 (EN 1.4301) stainless throughout - band, housing and screw - carrying Lloyd's Register Type Approval and suited to salt water and other highly corrosive environments. The same clips serve agricultural irrigation, washdown plant and drainage systems. Measure the hose's fitted outside diameter and pick the range that covers it.
Also available - the same clip as a 5-pack (HGS40PM1); the 25-35mm size (HGS35RP); the 35-45mm size (HGS45RP); a zinc plated version in the same size and pack (HGZ40RP).
All-stainless construction verified by salt mist testing - made and batch-tested in-house in Sudbury, Suffolk under ISO 9001:2015.

A. It adjusts between 30-40mm. Measure the outside diameter of your hose when fitted over its pipe or fitting - if that measurement falls within 30-40mm, this clip fits. JCS clips offer a larger adjustment range per size than typical nut-and-bolt clamps. In imperial terms that is roughly 1 3/16 to 1 9/16 in, covering common 1 1/4 and 1 1/2 in hose sizes.
A. For this size band JCS publishes a recommended torque of 5.0 Nm (45 lb-in). Work up to it gradually with the clip seated centrally on the barb; going past it risks damaging the hose rather than improving the seal.
A. Yes - every component is the same grade of stainless steel, verified through JCS's salt mist testing, so there is no mixed-metal weak point to corrode first.
A. That is one of their core applications: JCS stainless clips serve temporary and permanent pumping, stormwater and overflow systems, wastewater treatment works, and agricultural irrigation networks, where corrosion resistance decides service life.
A. For most marine and wet industrial duty, this 304 (18/8) clip with its Lloyd's Register Type Approval is the standard answer. JCS reserves its 316 grade for the most demanding settings - offshore, food and pharmaceutical - so if that is your application, ask us about options.
A. JCS designs against it: the hex screw is cold-headed and work-hardened with rolled threads, so it holds its setting and will not round off. On high-vibration equipment, JCS's guidance is to recheck the clip after service to keep the seal intact.
