Soft hoses relax over time; a clip that cannot be re-tensioned simply lets the seal fade with them.
The HGZ22RP is a Hi-Grip worm drive clip adjusting between 14-22mm. Its band edges are fully rounded to protect the hose, and the hex screw is cold-headed and work-hardened with rolled threads, so it resists slipping or rounding under the driver. Tighten incrementally to the recommended 5.0 Nm (45 lb-in); over-tightening is what damages hoses. The range is manufactured to exceed BS5315 and carries the BSI Kitemark and NATO approval.
This 10-pack format is the trade quantity - workshop stores, service vans and maintenance teams fitting the same sizes repeatedly. The specification is unchanged: heavily electro zinc plated and passivated mild steel tested to EN9227, plated after cutting so the band edges are coated, intended for non-corrosive domestic, automotive and industrial duty.

A. This size spans 14-22mm of fitted hose outside diameter. Measure the hose over its fitting, not the bare bore - anywhere inside 14-22mm and the HGZ22RP is the right clip. One JCS size covers a span that would take two fixed nut-and-bolt clamps. In imperial terms that is roughly 9/16 to 7/8 in, covering common 5/8 and 3/4 in hose sizes.
A. JCS recommends 5.0 Nm (45 lb-in) for this size. Position the clip centrally over the hose barb and tighten incrementally to that torque - over-tightening can damage the hose.
A. The band is heavily electro zinc plated and passivated, tested to EN9227, and JCS plates the steel after cutting so the cut edges are coated too. It is intended for non-corrosive environments such as domestic and light industrial use - for wet, salty or chemical-exposed duty choose the Hi-Grip Stainless version.
A. JCS advises against zinc plated clips in marine conditions, where they can corrode or seize. For boats and other saltwater environments use Hi-Grip Stainless, which is 18/8 marine-quality 304 stainless steel with Lloyd's Register Type Approval.
