When a coolant or air line starts seeping where it meets the fitting, the fix is rarely a new hose - it is a clip that holds its clamping force.
Worm drive clips seal by drawing the band evenly through a captive screw housing, and the HGZ16RP adds the JCS details that make that reliable - an 11-16mm adjustment span, a cold-headed, work-hardened hex screw with rolled threads that will not round off, and fully rounded band edges. Recommended tightening torque for this size is 3.0 Nm (26 lb-in). Manufactured to exceed BS5315, Kitemarked and NATO approved.
The band is mild steel, heavily electro zinc plated, passivated and tested to EN9227 - JCS's general purpose specification for domestic, automotive and industrial duty away from salt and standing moisture. One clip covers a wider span than a typical nut-and-bolt clamp, so fewer sizes cover more hoses. Seat it centrally over the barb when fitting.
Also available - the same clip as a bulk pack (HGZ16BP); the same clip as a 5-pack (HGZ16PM1); the 9.5-12mm size (HGZ12RP); the 13-20mm size (HGZ20RP).
The larger adjustment range per size means one JCS clip covers spans that would take two ordinary nut-and-bolt clamps.

A. This size spans 11-16mm of fitted hose outside diameter. Measure the hose over its fitting, not the bare bore - anywhere inside 11-16mm and the HGZ16RP is the right clip. One JCS size covers a span that would take two fixed nut-and-bolt clamps. In imperial terms that is roughly 7/16 to 5/8 in, covering common 1/2 and 5/8 in hose sizes.
A. For this size band JCS publishes a recommended torque of 3.0 Nm (26 lb-in). Work up to it gradually with the clip seated centrally on the barb; going past it risks damaging the hose rather than improving the seal.
A. The band is heavily electro zinc plated and passivated, tested to EN9227, and JCS plates the steel after cutting so the cut edges are coated too. It is intended for non-corrosive environments such as domestic and light industrial use - for wet, salty or chemical-exposed duty choose the Hi-Grip Stainless version.
A. No - JCS itself cautions that zinc-coated clamps can quickly corrode or seize around salt water. The marine specification is Hi-Grip Stainless: 18/8 304 stainless throughout, with Lloyd's Register Type Approval.
