Sized to adjust between 13-20mm, the HGZ20RP carries the construction details Hi-Grip is specified for - rolled screw threads on a cold-headed, work-hardened hex head, fully rounded band edges, and a published tightening torque of 3.0 Nm (26 lb-in) for this size band. The range is made to exceed BS5315 and holds the BSI Kitemark and NATO approval.
Zinc plated for general purpose service, this clip is the everyday choice for automotive, domestic and industrial hose joints in non-corrosive conditions; for persistently wet or salty duty JCS points buyers to its stainless range instead. Size by the fitted outside diameter of the hose and tighten in stages. A 10-pack suits a multi-point job or the van stock bin.

A. This size spans 13-20mm of fitted hose outside diameter. Measure the hose over its fitting, not the bare bore - anywhere inside 13-20mm and the HGZ20RP is the right clip. One JCS size covers a span that would take two fixed nut-and-bolt clamps. In imperial terms that is roughly 1/2 to 13/16 in, covering common 5/8 and 3/4 in hose sizes.
A. JCS recommends 3.0 Nm (26 lb-in) for this size. Position the clip centrally over the hose barb and tighten incrementally to that torque - over-tightening can damage the hose.
A. JCS advises against zinc plated clips in marine conditions, where they can corrode or seize. For boats and other saltwater environments use Hi-Grip Stainless, which is 18/8 marine-quality 304 stainless steel with Lloyd's Register Type Approval.
