Variations
On machinery that vibrates for a living, an ordinary hose clip slowly backs itself off until the joint weeps.
The HGZ20PM2 is a Hi-Grip worm drive clip adjusting between 13-20mm. Its band edges are fully rounded to protect the hose, and the hex screw is cold-headed and work-hardened with rolled threads, so it resists slipping or rounding under the driver. Tighten incrementally to the recommended 3.0 Nm (26 lb-in); over-tightening is what damages hoses. The range is manufactured to exceed BS5315 and carries the BSI Kitemark and NATO approval.
Made from heavily electro zinc plated and passivated mild steel, tested to EN9227, it suits general purpose work in non-corrosive environments - domestic, automotive and industrial hose connections. Measure the outside diameter of the hose when fitted and choose the clip whose range covers it. JCS supplies leading agricultural machinery manufacturers, and the same clips serve garden machinery, workshop and light industrial pipework.
Also available - the same clip in a 5-pack (HGZ20PM1); the 11-16mm size (HGZ16PM2); the 14-22mm size (HGZ22PM2); a 304 stainless version of the same size and pack (HGS20PM2).

A. It adjusts between 13-20mm. Measure the outside diameter of your hose when fitted over its pipe or fitting - if that measurement falls within 13-20mm, this clip fits. JCS clips offer a larger adjustment range per size than typical nut-and-bolt clamps. In imperial terms that is roughly 1/2 to 13/16 in, covering common 5/8 and 3/4 in hose sizes.
A. For this size band JCS publishes a recommended torque of 3.0 Nm (26 lb-in). Work up to it gradually with the clip seated centrally on the barb; going past it risks damaging the hose rather than improving the seal.
A. JCS electro zinc plates and passivates the mild steel band after it is cut to size, so even the cut edges carry coating - and the finish is tested to EN9227. That suits dry and general duty; once salt or standing moisture is involved, the stainless range is the correct specification.
A. No - JCS itself cautions that zinc-coated clamps can quickly corrode or seize around salt water. The marine specification is Hi-Grip Stainless: 18/8 304 stainless throughout, with Lloyd's Register Type Approval.
