The SIP 01731 10" Quick Lock Machine Vice is a heavy-duty clamping tool designed for securing workpieces quickly and efficiently during machining operations in professional metalwork and fabrication environments. With a 10" (260mm) jaw opening and a clamping force of 25kN, it is built to meet the demands of high-throughput production and precision engineering work.
The Quick Lock mechanism slides the vice effortlessly into position against the workpiece, substantially reducing set-up time during machining runs and changeovers. The body is constructed from grey cast iron for rigidity and vibration damping, whilst the jaws are manufactured from quenched and tempered structural steel to withstand repeated clamping cycles. The slotted fixed base accepts 15mm mounting hardware and allows the unit to be secured directly to a drill press table, maintaining drilling accuracy and operator safety. Parallelism is rated at 0.05mm per 100mm, confirming the precision achievable under working conditions.
The vice is confirmed compatible with the SIP F25-GB 8-Speed (01719), SIP F32-ID Vari-Speed (01720) and SIP F40-IDA Vari-Speed (01721) Industrial Floor Pillar Drills. It is suited to pillar drill drilling, milling, grinding and light to medium-duty work across ferrous and non-ferrous metals including mild steel, aluminium, copper, brass, stainless steel, cast iron and wrought iron. Typical applications include drilling holes in steel plates and box sections, creating precise holes for bolts, pins and shafts, and holding small castings, brackets and flanges during production and assembly.
The SIP 01731 is supplied as a standalone vice. Box contents: 1x SIP 10" Quick Lock Machine Vice. Jaw width: 7" (180mm); jaw depth: 2.16" (55mm); vice height: 3.89" (99mm); base size: 21" (535mm) x 13.25" (335mm).
