The SIP 01727 6" Swivel & Tilt Machine Vice is a heavy-duty workshop vice with a 152mm (6") jaw width and 25kN clamping force, engineered for precise multi-angle machining in professional metalworking and fabrication environments. Constructed from a grey cast iron body with hardened tool steel jaws, it is designed to reduce set-up time and eliminate the need for additional fixtures during complex drilling and machining operations.
The vice features a swivel base that enables the operator to rotate workpieces through a full 0° to 360° without unclamping, and a tilting mechanism that provides 0° to 45° of vertical inclination for additional flexibility when machining at an angle. Angle gauges support precise set-up for accuracy in complex or repetitive machining tasks. The base footprint measures 229mm x 292mm (9" x 11.5") and the mounting hole size is 17mm, with a parallelism accuracy of 0.05mm per 100mm.
With a jaw opening and jaw width both at 152mm (6"), a jaw depth of 51mm (2"), and an overall vice height of 184mm (7.25"), the 01727 is well suited to drilling ferrous and non-ferrous metals including mild steel, aluminium, copper, brass, stainless steel, cast iron and wrought iron. It is equally applicable to milling, grinding, light machining, slotting, and face or end milling across general engineering, metal fabrication, and production and assembly applications.
