The Draper Hi-TORQ® 6-point impact socket addresses this by being forged from hardened chrome molybdenum steel, a material chosen for its exceptional toughness and resistance to the shock loads generated by electric and pneumatic impact wrenches. The 6-point internal geometry maximises contact area across each flat of the fastener, reducing the risk of rounding during high-torque applications. A black phosphate finish is applied to all external surfaces, providing a layer of corrosion protection suited to workshop and industrial environments where exposure to moisture and fluids is routine. This socket is designed for use with 3/4 inch square drive electric or pneumatic impact wrenches and is sized at 36mm. It is supplied complete with a ring and pin retaining system to secure the socket to the drive tool during use, preventing accidental disengagement under load. The Draper Hi-TORQ® range is manufactured specifically for impact use, distinguishing these sockets from standard chrome vanadium hand-tool sockets that are not rated for impact wrench application.
