The Draper Expert HI-TORQ® 6 Point Deep Impact Socket addresses this directly: each socket is forged from chrome molybdenum steel, then hardened and tempered to withstand the high-torque shock loads generated by air, electric, and manual impact wrenches. The 6 point contact geometry engages fastener flats rather than corners, distributing load more evenly and reducing the risk of rounding under impact. The deep profile accommodates extended bolt threads and recessed fixings that a standard-depth socket cannot reach, making this socket well suited to suspension, drivetrain, and engine bay applications where fasteners are not flush-mounted. A chemical blacking process is applied to the finished socket, providing a layer of corrosion protection appropriate for workshop environments where moisture and cutting fluids are present.
