The deep format provides the extended reach needed to seat fully onto protruding studs, long-bolt assemblies, and recessed fasteners that a standard-depth socket cannot engage. A black phosphate surface finish is applied to the socket, providing a degree of corrosion protection suitable for workshop and field environments. The 1-inch square drive accepts the full range of compatible 1-inch drive impact wrenches.
