Worn tyre tread is a safety and legal concern on any vehicle. The PCL DTDG1D04 is a digital tyre tread depth gauge with a measurement range of 0–25 mm / 0–1 inch, designed to deliver straightforward, reliable tread depth readings in the workshop or on the forecourt.
The gauge features a large, easy-to-read LCD display with three different read settings, giving operators the flexibility to work in millimetres, inches, or fractional inch (1/64 in) readout. A Zero setting in any position allows quick reset without removing the gauge from the measurement point, keeping the workflow efficient. Display resolution is 0.01 mm / 0.0005 in / 1/64 in, with an accuracy of 0.2 mm across the full calibration range.
The housing is constructed from lightweight, extra-strong carbon fibre composite, selected for its strength and durability in workshop environments. The battery-operated design requires no airline connection and is ready to use immediately. PCL have manufactured precision gauging instruments in Sheffield since 1938 and are part of HORNGROUP.
