The compact stubby profile brings the ratchet ring end into play where a full-length spanner simply cannot fit, without sacrificing strength or finish quality. The spanner is forged from chrome vanadium steel that is hardened, tempered, fully polished, and mirror chrome plated, providing robust corrosion protection for long service life in professional use. The open end is offset at 15° to improve clearance over fastener heads in recessed positions. The ring end incorporates a 90-tooth ratchet mechanism that allows just 4° of movement per stroke, making it genuinely practical in the tightest of access points. The 12-point HI-TORQ® ring profile is central to the tool's performance. By transferring torque to the flats of the fastener rather than the corners, it maximises leverage whilst significantly reducing the risk of rounding or damaging fastener heads — a particular advantage when working on corroded or heavily torqued fixings.
