The Draper Expert XP1000® VDE Hi-Leverage Side Cutter is manufactured from premium steel forged in Germany, with induction-hardened jaws engineered for effortless, clean cutting and long-term performance in demanding electrical environments. The off-centred, precision-machined pivot pins allow smooth one-handed operation with minimum play, while simultaneously increasing the ease of cutting harder wires — a design detail that makes a measurable difference on repetitive or high-load cutting tasks. Horns on the handle prevent slipping onto live conductors, adding a further layer of protection during live-circuit work. Tested to 10,000V, these pliers are certified for use on live circuits of 1,000V AC and 1,500V DC, meeting VDE insulation standards. Maximum cutting capacity is 2.2mm. The two-part bi-material ergonomic soft grip handle provides maximum grip and user comfort across extended use. The handle incorporates a tethered fixing solution to comply with Work at Height Regulations. Compatible lanyards (Stock No. 82474) and wrist straps (Stock No. 03740) are sold separately.
