The Estwing ESH-636W is a 2.7 kg (6 lb) sledge hammer built for demanding striking applications. The drop forged head is induction hardened, producing a striking surface engineered to withstand repeated heavy use without deforming. The handle is crafted from premium hickory timber imported from the USA. Hickory is a natural shock absorber, and on this tool it is intended to minimise user fatigue, reduce vibration, and enhance working efficiency — qualities that matter when the tool is in sustained use. Estwing's use of USA-sourced hickory reflects the brand's commitment to material quality in this sledge hammer series. The combination of a hardened drop forged head and a correctly balanced hickory shaft makes the ESH-636W a sound choice for tradespeople and workshop professionals who require a reliable, full-weight striking tool.
