Heavy-duty demolition and groundworks tasks demand a striking tool that combines impact resistance with durable construction. The Draper 81430 Hickory Shaft Sledge Hammer delivers exactly that through a solid forged head manufactured from fine grain high carbon steel, correctly hardened and tempered to maintain structural integrity under repeated heavy use. A polished face ensures consistent, clean contact on each strike, while a lacquer coating provides rust protection to extend the working life of the head in workshop and outdoor environments. The shaft is fashioned from natural straight grained hickory, a timber long favoured in striking tool construction for its ability to absorb shock and resist splitting. Both shaft and head are sanded and lacquered to a finished standard before leaving the factory. At 6.4 kg (14 lb), this hammer is suited to demanding applications including masonry breaking, post driving, and structural demolition work. Supplied loose, the Draper 81430 is a practical choice for construction professionals and workshop operators requiring a reliable, traditionally constructed sledge hammer at a commercially usable weight.
Polished face, high carbon steel solid forged head, that's correctly hardened and tempered with a lacquer coating for rust protection. Natural straight grained hickory shaft sanded and lacquered.
