The Defender E201512 addresses this by stepping down a 230–240V mains input to a 110V output, with the transformer centre-tapped to earth for an additional layer of electrical safety. Two 16A 110V outlets allow simultaneous connection of corded power tools or appliances, and resettable overload protection guards equipment while minimising downtime. The transformer is suited to a wide range of applications including hammer drills, impact drills, percussion drills, rotary hammer drills and fume extractors, as well as 110V lighting. The intermittent duty rating is 1500VA with a duty cycle of 5 minutes on and 15 minutes off; the continuous duty rating is 900VA. The rated power factor is 0.93 cos, and cooling is achieved by air circulation. The unit is housed in a tough GRP case with an IP44 ingress protection rating, making it suitable for use in dusty or damp working environments. It arrives fitted with a 13A BS plug on a 1.8 metre H07RN-F black rubber 3-core 1.5mm² cable. Dimensions are 225 x 272 x 180mm and the unit weighs 10.5kg. The package includes the transformer, two 16A sockets, the rubber-sheathed cable and the 13A BS plug.
